What appear to be the remains of a shipwreck have been uncovered on a Cornish beach.

The discovery was made at Carbis Bay in the wake of Storm Ciara.

The Carbis Bay Hotel shared the photos, with the caption "has Storm Ciara uncovered another shipwreck at Carbis Bay?"

Suggestions as to the identity of the wreck include the remains of three coal ships caught in a storm over 125 years ago.

The Cintra, Bessie and Vulture were wrecked within half an hour in November 1893.

This is not the first sighting - the remnants were also visible in January 2019 and November 2017 following unusually low tides.

Commenting on Carbis Bay Hotel's post, Bonnie said: "Oooo, what is that? We come to Carbis Bay every year and not seen that before".
