HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week. Today, Thursday February 4, at 10am there is History and Writing; then at 2pm the Social event "Walks in the Footsteps of Cornish Writers" with Sue Kittow takes place. On Tuesday February 9 at 10am there is Art. All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre. The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

OLD CORNWALL SOCIETY:

On Friday February 5 at the Passmore Edwards Institute Hayle, The Old Cornwall Society presents an illustrated wildlife talk by Mr David Chapman of Townshend Hayle.  All are welcome, refreshments will be served after the talk.

CORNWALL COUNCIL:

Hayle is represented by two Cornwall Councillors and both are always eager to hear from residents. John Coombe is on Hayle 752831.You can contact John Pollard on 07967272808. The next monthly surgery will be on Saturday February 6 between 10am and 12noon and thereafter, as usual, on the first Saturday each month at the Hayle One Stop Shop, Hayle Library, Commercial Road.

SMUGGLERS INN:

Pop in and pick up a Valentines menu. Three courses for two people for £25. Other specials available and will be running Friday February 12 and Saturday February 13. (Including karaoke on Saturday 13).  Book a table now!  On Sunday January 31 there will be no jazz but instead there will be music from1 to 3pm. The Ocean Sessions. Free entry for all. Blues, folk & easy listening. Roast lunches served from 1 to 3pm

HAYLE TWINNING ASSOCIATION:

A very happy new year to everyone. Memberships are due for renewal and this must be done before the AGM which is on Monday February 8. This year the meeting is being held at the Council Community Centre room 7 which is at the Council offices. The meeting starts at 7:15pm and is open to everyone though only paid up members can take part in any voting. Just to remind you that membership costs are £7.50 single, £10 couple and £12.50 per family.

The friends from twinned town of Pordic will arrive in Hayle late on Wednesday May 4 and depart again on Saturday May 7, so put these dates in to diaries please. There's also the return trip to Pordic to arrange so attend this meeting to know what's happening.  For more information please call Maurice on 01736 753341.

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday, the Sunday next before Lent February 7, the Sung Eucharist will be celebrated by Father Malcolm at 9.30am. On Wednesday February 10, Ash Wednesday Said Eucharist will be celebrated.by Reverend Patricia Murley at 10 am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

HAYLE METHODIST CHURCH:

A new course in the Christian faith for the people of Hayle for those who would like to know more. There's a commitment to six weeks for a couple of hours to find out more and update what you think. ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father Philip celebrated the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday January 30 with readings from Jeremiah - Corinthians and gospel by Luke.

There will be Mass on Friday February 5 at 10am.

Mass on Ash Wednesday will be at 12noon in Hayle.

Stanchion's of the cross will be after the 10am Mass on Fridays.
