HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday July 14, at 10am there is Games; then at 2pm the U3A committee meeting takes place. On Tuesday July 19 at 10am there is Art; then at 2pm the Film club meets. All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

ANGARRACK COFFEE MORNING:
Angarrack's next fortnightly coffee morning takes place this Friday, July 15, between 10am and noon at Angarrack Community Centre. All welcome.

CORNISH / CELTIC MUSIC NIGHT:

At the Cornish Arms, Hayle on every third Sunday of the month, next date July 17 at 8 pm.  An invite to all musicians, dancers & singers and those who wish to come along and just listen or to take part in an impromptu session of Celtic folk music, dance and song. SUMMER CONCERT:

West Cornwall Concert Band along with Raise the Ruth Rock choir will be giving their Annual Summer Concert on Monday July 18 at 7.30pm at Hayle Rugby Club. The Concert will include Rock, Pop, show music and two joint pieces with the Concert Band and Choir to end the concert. Tickets are £5 at the door. HAYLE HERITAGE CENTRE:

Hayle Heritage Centre is now open for the summer season on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am and 4pm.  They are based on Foundry Square, on the historic site of Harvey's Foundry, and offer an insight into Hayle's rich social history. PEBBLE PAINTING:

Hayle Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Committee is holding £1 a go Pebble Painting activity events on Carbis Bay Beach from 11.30am to 4pm every Monday for four consecutive weeks from July 25.

HAYLE TWINNING ASSOCIATION:

The next coach trip the Association is running is a shopping trip to Exeter on Saturday November 5.  The cost is £15 p.p. please book early to reserve a seat. Call Maurice on 01736 753341.

THE ROTARY CLUB OF HAYLE:

Members of the Rotary Club of Hayle turned out in force to support other organisations at the Hayle Celebration Day on King George V Memorial Walk

last weekend with erection of stalls and stage as well as raising charitable funds for their own projects with their usual quality barbecue offerings.  The members would like to thank all those who supported the club with interest in their activities and purchases which enabled a worthy sum to be raised and consequently a suitable donation to be presented to the event organisation. 

The club met on July 4 to thank President David Gregg for his very active and productive year in office and present him with his Past Presidents Award. David responded by thanking members for their hard working support and enjoyment throughout the year before handing over the Chain of Office to Rotarian Brian Hattam who has already set out a challenging programme of fellowship, fun and charitable projects for the coming year.  The club start with a series of barbecues at Calloose Caravan and Camping site at Leedstown interspersed with a group theatre visit and meal at Truro for members and friends during the next month.

The Rotary Club meet on Mondays at the White Hart hotel throughout the year except in August when they are extremely busy fund raising and assisting other organisations.  If any person wishes to help or support their activities within Hayle and District please contact Rotarian David Raymer (01736 7550029) or Rotarian Trevor Osborne (01736 793596) for a convivial chat.

 

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday July 17, the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Clifton at 9.30 am.  On Wednesday July 20, Said Eucharist will be celebrated by Father Malcolm at 10 am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father Brian Stocks took the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday July 9 in the absence of Father Philip

There will be NO Mass on Friday this week.

"Sunrise" festival raffle Smeaton's Pier, St Ives by local artist Colin Orchard.

Strawberry cream tea at the Presbytery gardens on Sunday July 24 at 2.30pm.

Garden party and cream tea on Sunday August 21, 14 Heather Lane, Canonstown at 2.30pm.

The annual parish meeting is on Monday July 25 at 7.30pm at the parish hall in Penzance.
