HAYLE IN BLOOM:

Why not walk the walk with Hayle in Bloom?  Their event for children last month was a great success, and they hope that the grown-ups will be as enthused.  On Thursday May 12 there will be a guided walk along King George V Memorial Walk in Hayle.  Meet at 10.30am at the greenhouse.  HiB will show and tell plants on the walk, advise on garden tasks for May, and do their best to answer gardening conundrums.  A donation is welcome, and so are doggy friends on a lead.  Please come and join us to learn a little more about this lovely Hayle asset.  Any queries, ask Olivia at the greenhouse or phone 01736 756567.

KNOW YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE DAY:

The Stroke Association would like to congratulate the public of Hayle who supported the Hayle Rotary Club's KYBP day last Saturday at ASDA

supermarket.  There was a steady demand from shoppers and Hayle President Rotarian David Gregg was the first to have his blood pressure taken, thankfully, a good result. Thanks must also be given to organiser David Raymer and the Hayle Day Care Centre for their vehicle to be available for use and especially to Duncan Goodman who travelled from Ilfracombe in Devon to assist with his expertise and equipment when booked nurses were unfortunately unable to attend.  There was one attendee who was advised to seek medical attention ASAP and several others to visit their medical practitioners for further checks within a week. Altogether the event was an excellent success and will hopefully continue to be held annually with the help of Hayle Rotarians who have supported this event for 15 years.
