A "serious incident" off the Cornish coast has left three people in hospital last night. A group of five people were caught in a rip tide at Crantock beach, near Newquay, just before 7.30pm. As local surfers rushed to help, the emergency services were called by an onlooker. Two lifeboats, the local Coastguard rescue team and a helicopter were called into action, along with police and paramedics.
