Emergency services were called out to a Newquay beach on Wednesday morning after a woman suffered a leg injury. The air ambulance, coastguard, RNLI volunteers and land ambulance responded after receiving a call shortly after 11am reporting that a woman had injured her leg at low tide at Bedruthan Steps. An off-duty lifeguard came to the rescue of a surfer who was in difficulty in choppy waters off the coast of Padstow. RNLI lifeguard Andrew Miller was about to go for an early morning surf with a friend at Booby's Bay near Padstow when he spotted the surfer looking tired in rip currents.
