The fire brigade has issued a warning over leaving food unattended on ovens after an incident in Falmouth last night. A neighbour in Arwenack Street called 999 after hearing an alarm sounding and the crew discovered the kitchen was engulfed with smoke and the resident was asleep. People in Cornwall are being told to prepare for the prospect of heavy rain and thunderstorms from Sunday lunchtime to Monday afternoon - with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning.
